Welcome

Welcome to the Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals....one of the longest serving charities in the City.

Our main aim is to make the lives of patients more comfortable, more convenient and more personal to enhance and add value to existing services.

We work closely with our local NHS Trusts to ensure your contribution helps provide additional benefits for local patients.

Funding News

In 2009, £68,000 has been allocated for items requested by the NHS Trusts of our City. The Trustees are very pleased with £15,000 provided via a donation from Sussex4Sussex to purchase two integrated laparoscopes for the Digestive Diseases Unit at RSCH. Details.

A grant of £25,000 provided by the Friends in 2008 has allowed the Trevor Mann Baby Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital to purchase a Stephanie Ventilator. This high-specification ventilator is quiet and is much more comfortable for the very premature babies on the Ward. The ventilator is pictured below with Friends Trustees and staff from the Unit.

Brighton Marathon

Run the inaugural Brighton Marthon for Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals. The Marathon takes place on 18th April 2010. The Friends still have a few charity places available.

The Mayor's Charities

Forthcoming events include a Christmas Coffee / Sherry morning at The Mayor's Parlour on Friday 4th December and a Valentine’s Eve Gala Dinner in the Royal Pavilion Banqueting Room. Click here to see the full list of events.  Events list.

Classical Concert 

Dr Alan Ireland and colleagues play music by Beethoven, Handel, Mozart, Vivaldi, Greig, Ravel and Mendelssohn.

Doctor Talks

Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals hold regular Doctor Talks events at the Audrey Emerton building.
