Welcome to the Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals....one of the longest serving charities in the City.

Our main aim is to make the lives of patients more comfortable, more convenient and more personal to enhance and add value to existing services.

We work closely with our local NHS Trusts to ensure your contribution helps provide additional benefits for local patients.

Funding News

In 2009, £68,000 has been allocated for the NHS Trusts of our City. Details.

The Trustees have provided £30 for every Ward and Clinic open on Christmas Day across the City. This is used to improve the Day for those patients unable to go home for the day.

The Mayor's Charities

As one of the Mayor of Brighton and Hove's chosen charities for 2009/10, the Friends have been involved in a number of fundraising events, including a Music Evening at the Royal Pavilion.

Forthcoming events include a Valentine’s Eve Gala Dinner in the Royal Pavilion Banqueting Room and a Variety Show at Hove Town Hall.

Park Centre for Breast Care

The Friends are delighted that the long-awaited Friends Cafe at the Park Centre for Breast Care on Brighton Road is expected to open soon. More details will follow when we have them.

Brighton Marathon

Congratulations to all our Marathon Runners who have been braving the icy conditions to keep training for our City's first ever Marathon on 18th April 2010.

If you already have a place in the Brighton Marathon and have not yet registered to support a charity, consider supporting Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals. We can help with online fundraising and provide paper sponsorship forms. For more information email Sarah at the office.

Doctor Talks

Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals hold regular Doctor Talks events at the Audrey Emerton building. The next talk will be about Obstetrics and a further talk on Cancer is scheduled for 4th May 2010 as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival.
