Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals

Friends of Brighton and Hove Hospitals provide funding to these NHS Trusts working in Brighton and Hove and Newhaven:

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH);

South Downs Health NHS Trust;

East Sussex Downs and Weald PCT;

Sussex Partnership Trust.

The respective Trusts collate the applications for funding which have been received from their hospital departments, clinics and wards. These requests are then considered by the Executive Committee of the Friends and decisions are made about which items will be funded.

The Executive Committee use the following criteria:

  The request should be for additional items of equipment, facilities or services. (i.e. not replacement items for existing equipment).

  The request must be for equipment, facilities or services, which relate to patient care.

  The request must meet the Friends’ criteria for making the lives of patients more comfortable, more convenient and more personal.

  The request must demonstrate best price in value for money terms.
